[BREAKING] British Airways stores 33 Airbus A320 in Palma de Mallorca
Special Views at the Airport of Palma de Mallorca
Over the last week, up to 33 Airbus A320 of British Airways have arrived at the airport of Palma de Mallorca. These aircraft are being stored on the General Aviation platform (19 of them), and the rest at the northwestern part of the airport, next to the hangars.
Today they have been covered and prepared for their long-term storage here in Palma, which suggests that they will stay here for the upcoming months, until the global pandemic situation improves, when they will be needed again to ensure a normal operation.
As a consequence, all private and business jets are being parked at the terminal stands which are equipped with jetways. All this looks quite strange at first.
For the moment, it is quite an attraction for all aviation enthusiasts who visit the airport to see and photograph these special visitors here at Palma.
We hope that in a few months these birds will fly again as they did before Covid-19.

El pasado día 13 de febrero volvimos a coronar la Torre de Control del Aeropuerto de Palma de Mallorca, y disfrutamos de una exclusiva sesión de spotting desde lo más alto de la Torre! Tuvimos la gran oportunidad de conocer de primera mano el lugar de trabajo de nuestros controladores, que nos dieron amplias explicaciones sobre la gestión que hacen del espacio aéreo, y el funcionamiento de las distintas dependencias que existen, así como los servicios que ofrecen a las aeronaves que llegan y salen diariamente de Palma y las Islas Baleares. Como aficionados a la aviación, y algunos pilotos o estudiantes, pudimos resolver nuestras dudas, y ampliar nuestros conocimientos sobre su gran trabajo. Finalmente, tuvimos el placer de hacer spotting desde la terraza de la Torre de Control, con unas vistas inigualables sobre el aeropuerto y la isla, gracias a lo que pudimos sacar fotos únicas y muy especiales. En nombre de toda la asociación, quiero dar nuevamente las gracias a ENAIRE, y al fantástico equipo de controladores de Palma por darnos la oportunidad de descubrir y aprender sobre su oficio y lugar de trabajo, y por la excelente organización y gestión. Nuestros miembros han firmado en contra de la privatización de la Torre de Palma, ya que estamos firmemente convencidos del grandioso e impecable trabajo que llevan a cabo diariamente todos los controladores y empleados de ENAIRE, garantizando la seguridad y fluidez de las operaciones en nuestros espacios aéreos.

La compañía British Airways ha trasladado al aeropuerto de Palma 33 de sus Airbus A320 para su almacenamiento durante la pandemia de la Covid-19.
Este viernes, los spotters de PMI Plane Spotting tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar la Torre de Control de Tránsito Aéreo de Palma de Mallorca. Hicimos un tour guiado a través de las instalaciones de ENAIRE y estuvimos varias horas spotteando desde lo más alto de la Torre de Control! Los resultados fueron impresionantes fotografías, hechas desde un punto muy especial del aeropuerto, enseñando una perspectiva muy rara.
This Friday, the spotters of PMI Plane Spotting had the unique opportunity to visit Palma de Mallorca's Air Traffic Control Tower. We had a tour through the facility and spotted for a few hours from the top of the tower! The results were some impressing photos, from a special point of the airport, showing a very rare perspective.
